Vilnius, April 29: Archdiocesan Curia Deplored Propagation of Tai Chi Practices
Archdiocesan Curia deplored the decision of Vilnius municipality to promote the Tai Chi health care practices in various places of Vilnius, including the places of Catholic devotion, close to the Kalvarijos Stations of the Cross. The project of open – air free of charge Tai Chi exercises from May till November will be subsidised by Vilnius City municipality with 50 000 litas. The Curial statement criticises the intention of project organisers to provide public lecturing on Tai Chi, “a para-religious practice of New Age”. “The municipal settlement to organise public Tai Chi exercises in the places of Catholic devotion certifies lack of sensitivity and respect for sacral objects”, says the statement of Vilnius Archdiocesan Curia.
